Ben Fearnside's organic abstract paintings are inspired by elemental energy, tectonic and explosive. Real metals on canvas include copper and iron: controlled oxidisation is part of the creative process.  A trade secret! Although the artworks are on a single plane, their depth and texture has a sculptural quality. Some have recessed cracks, going deeper than the canvas. Others are highly polished, using brass and gold leaf. With custom black frames, these have a Japanese art feel.
